Emine Sevgi Özdamar and Maureen Freely

Emine Sevgi Özdamar

Born in Turkey and resident in Berlin, Emine Sevgi Özdamar discusses her novel ‘The Bridge of the Golden Horn’, a picaresque taste of politics-fuelled Europe in the late 1960s. She will be in conversation with Maureen Freely, translator of Orhan Pamuk and Elif Shafak, and author of ‘Enlightenment’, an Istanbul thriller.

'Sevgi is, on certain occasions, the fastest storyteller I know' John Berger
