When exactly does an insult become a joke? Where do you draw the line?
Hosted by avant-garde theatre and comedy mavericks, the Perrier award-winning duo Noble and Silver, The Insulting Cabaret gathers together some of the most outspoken voices in writing and performance today, combining a celebration of international literature with an elbow in the ribs of convention. We bring you an explosive selection of slam poetry and comedy, as well as innovative theatre, salsa music and multi-lingual lyricism. Expect banned songs and provocative texts, book covers and cartoons, live blogging and much much more.
Contributing performers include hip-hop performance poet Zena Edwards, Iranian-born comedienne and rising star Shappi Khorsandi, author Sjon Sigurdsson (Oscar-nominated Icelandic lyricist of the Bjork film Dancing in the Dark), Moroccan writer Abdellah Taia, young Parisian rapper Patrick Biyik, dynamic salsa musician Dorance Lorza and absurdist theatre company Jammy Voo.
